Memorial Day 1997, Fallen of the Logistics Corps Stamp

Monument to the Fallen of the Logistics Corps – the stamp issued in April 1997 features a realistic drawing of part of the memorial building, flanked by inter-connected branches of modern construction, standing out against a stone wall in the background, bearing the names of the Corps’ fallen soldiers in Hebrew. The tab displays the emblem of the Corps.

The Logistics or Quartermaster Corps is a branch of military science directly responsible for the calculations and organisation of supplies, movement and transport of the body of troops in the Israeli Defence Forces. Its purpose is to provide these services to all levels of the fighting units so that they can carry out their duties with a minimum of distraction or hindrance.
