Philately Day 1990, Post Office Building in Yaffo Stamp
The stamp shows the Post Office Building in Yafo (based on a photograph taken in the 50’s). Post Office Buildings were the subject chosen for the year by European countries as the common philatelic theme. The Post Office Building was designed by the British architect Austin Harrison, and dedicated in 1935. The building is situated at the beginning of Jerusalem Boulevard in Yafo, which was then the old main road to Jerusalem, the place being a focal point for road transport. The stamp with an information sheet are enclosed in a plastic protection sheet.
