Memorial Day 1993, Fallen of Medical Corps Stamp
This stamp issued for Memorial Day, 1993, depicts the monument to the fallen of the Medical Corps in the form of tents of the Batallion Casualty Station, the focal point of the Corps to which casualties are taken after being given first aid at the site of the battle. The Memorial is located in the Military Convalescent Cetnre on Mt. Carmel, near Haifa. The Medical Corps set itself the highest ethic standards, establishing that everything possible must be done to help casualties in the field under a code that declares, that under no circumstances, must such injured ever be abandoned. Its two prime objectives are: the concern for the soldier’s health in general, and being on constant alert for terrorist attacks. The corps rendered invaluable service throughout all the wars in which the State has been involved since its re-establishment and during the continuous terrorist actions.
The stamp with an information sheet are enclosed in a plastic protection sheet.
