Barcelona Olympics 1992 Stamp

At the opening ceremony, which was held on 25th July 1992 at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain, Israeli athletes marched along-side sports’ representatives of 176 countries. 1992 commemorated 500 years since the expulsion of the Jewish people from Spain. The Israeli sports team took a special message from the State of Israel to the Jewish community in Barcelona and in Spain at this significant time. Immigration absorption in Israel was expressed at the Games by new immigrant athletes who were part of the Israeli team. The stamp with an information sheet are enclosed in a plastic protection sheet
